52 Photos Project, Week Two: Microscopic

Spider webs fascinate me. Wet spider webs with rain droplets thrill me. I can spend an inordinate amount of time fighting with my lens trying to get focused on the thin thread of a spider's web.

  3. You haven't been reading Annie Dillard, have you? She kept a spider (didn't kill it) in a corner of her bathroom when she lived at Tinker Creek, keeping notes on the meals it consumed....

    1. No, not at the present moment, Jim! I'm not that nice--I'd attempt to kill the spider if it was in my bathroom!

    1. MIriam, what a smart idea! I never thought of doing that! Next time I see a dry spider web, I might have to try that!

  10. I love spider webs, too, and the only way I've ever gotten decent photos of one was when it had dew or rain on it. These are lovely!

    1. !!! Now I am wondering if they HAVE to be wet in order for the camera to "see" them. Hmmm...I might have to do a little experimenting!
