Simple Philosophy

I bought these six angel statuettes before Christmas, cheap little things that were so ugly they were cute, in my opinion. Anyway, I photographed them all and have been playing with the photos in Photoshop. I really like the way the background on this one turned out. Even my fifteen year old was impressed and Lord knows she is hard to impress!

I should have made notes on what I did though because I do not remember all the steps I took to get it to look this way. I know this because I tried to duplicate this look for another card and could not do it. But I had fun trying and enjoyed the results I got in my attempt (and of course, I will post it too sometime soon!).

  4. This is GREAT! And if you aren't selling these things, you should consider it. What a great all purpose card that would make!

  5. Neat!

I use paintshop pro for my pictures, but from looking at your work and that of some others, I think I really need to switch to photoshop when I get ready to upgrade. I like what you do.

  7. I responded to your comments earlier and I guess Blogger never uploaded my comments. Anyway, thanks, all. I do sometimes think of selling these in some way, shape or form, but usually my very next thought is "Who would buy them?", followed by a million other nervous thoughts and worries!

But still, there might be seeds of confirmation for me in some of your comments, and maybe one day I'll get myself together and try.

  9. Dagnabbit, Blogger is losing my comments too much lately.

Penni Yes ma'am, I do believe you were the very first to have the audacity to suggest that I try and sell these things!...maybe one day.

  10. Photoshop has an item labeled 'history' so that you can see what steps you took to do a picture.

You can also copy/paste your 'style' layer into a new photo or another layer.

    Hope this helps!

    Namaste!

  11. Carol Thanks, but I had already flattened it and saved it as a Jpeg so I could no longer see the history. I do love that little history tool. There is a place to put notes too, but I have never used that tool. Maybe I should start.

  12. I love the saying on this one, and the picture! I haven't peeked in here in awhile so I missed all this. I lost all my bookmarks and have been trying to reconstruct and finally got to my blog links.
